Our client is a leading technology company providing ERP/CRM implementation and IT support services to several leading Financial Institutions, Insurance Companies and large Corporates.
The company is looking for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator in Singapore to support one of its clients. The recruited person will be responsible for planning, architecting, data modelling, setup, configuration, maintenance and support of Oracle Database and related infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing high-performance, high-capacity databases in a critical production environment.
- Routine maintenance, backups, refreshes migrations, loads, routine checks, tuning in production, development and test environments
- Deploying periodic patches and hotfixes after review in a test environment as per the patch testing process
- Performance tuning of database and SQL & PL/SQL queries/stored objects and guiding the development team on best query practices
- Documenting, disseminating within the team and implementing architectural guidelines and establishing operational best practices for Oracle database
- Providing leadership and mentoring the junior staff
- Database capacity planning using Oracle guidelines and standard sizing templates
- Working with Oracle Support Services for vendor level escalations
Key Skills
- Minimum 6 years of related experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of Oracle Relational database in a mission critical and high volume environment in a Financial Industry
- Experience in RAC, ASM, Dataguard, Infiniband switch, storage cell
- Should have worked in a Data warehousing environment. Data modelling / Warehouse designing experience will be an advantage
- Experience in Oracle Exadata, Golden Gate
- Good Experience in Clusterware (GRID Infrastructure) configuration
- Expertise in database backup, recovery and data migration using Datapump, RMAN and export/import tools.
- Skills in designing, implementing, and testing of disaster recovery (DR) strategies as part of overall COB plan
- The person should have experience on Solaris and Linux platforms. Windows experience will be an advantage
- Should be familiar with Oracle’s escalation procedures
- Should have experience supporting Oracle database in 24X7 production environment
- Prior experience supporting core-banking products like Flexcube, Finacle will be a big plus
- Experience working on other relational databases viz. SQl Server and MySQL will be plus
- Prior experience supporting legacy system database migration desirable
- Strong knowledge of the ITIL framework; certification will be preferable
Qualification: Graduate from an accredited university in IT-related discipline
