Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute both hardware and software upgrades.
• Creation of users
• Assigning of Responsibilities
• Registering of printers at Oracle Application Level
• Scheduling of concurrent requests
• Administering of concurrent managers
• Running of diagnostics
• Working knowledge of NAS and SAN, with the ability to acquire greater management skill as required.
• Ability to communicate (written and verbal) complex concepts effectively to diverse audiences and provide appropriate status to management
• Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
• Manage the load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks.
• Coordinate terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing.
• Work with project managers to plan server resources and set-up timelines for projects. Develop requirements, specification and project development efforts to support projects. Coordinate with vendors to committed services.
• Execute against project plans to implement software and hardware installation and upgrade projects. Assist with resolving performance tuning issues. Provide off-hours support on a rotating schedule.
• Support the deployment of development environments and applications used for building new offerings and applications that will be deployed into a mission critical
Required Skills and Experience:
• 5 years Linux System Administrator Experience.
• Strong Knowledge of server virtualization, SAN and NAS technologies
• Installation of Oracle Enterprise Linux and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Experience in managing the routine patching and upgrading of the Linux OS and related applications/products.
• Experience with Redhat (others Linux flavors will be good), VMWare, Oracle and Storage Systems.
• Experience in programming or scripting to automate routine tasks (sh, csh, tcsh, ksh, bash, etc and PERL)
• Experience troubleshooting application performance issues across IT service layers (software, compute, network, storage, etc.)
• Linux Certified persons preferred
Qualification: BE, B.Tech, BCA or MCA. Red Hat certification preferred.
