Job Responsibilities / Key Result Areas (KRAs)
- Test information management:
- Use Jira Issue Management software to ensure issues’ information is current
- Enter bug/issue information in an appropriate manner, ensuring priorities are correctly applied to issues
- Ensure all information required for software bugs is entered in Jira
- Provide feedback on the quality and readiness of a Release Candidate
- Proactively obtain issue data where it is missing in Jira
- Identify and link similar issues in Jira
- Ensure appropriate authorization is given before closing bugs
Test Documentation:
- Create test scripts to enable comprehensive testing of company’s applications
- Identify necessary additions to test scripts and update as required
- Maintain version control of test scripts and test control documents
- Perform testing as directed in test scripts
- Produce test scripts from design documentation
- Plan testing to ensure applications and web site are comprehensively tested over time
- Create release notes after completing testing of Release Candidates
- Maintain a history of documentation used in testing
Test execution:
- Perform exploratory/self-directed testing
- Follow testing processes as directed in process documentation and client instructions
- Perform the types of testing outlined in the test processes document
- Work with developers as required to obtain correct builds for testing
- Ensure testing is being carried out comprehensively and test processes are being followed
- Perform Quality Assurance testing as required
- Ensure Jira is updated with all relevant information for issues that fail testing
- Ensure developers are kept updated on intended testing, allowing for builds to be created in time
Other responsibilities:
- Provide project team with feedback where requirements are not adequately defined
- Liaise with Customer Support on issues as required
- Ensure appropriate devices and versions are being used for testing on required platforms
- Provide realistic estimates of time required to perform testing duties
- Follow release processes
Job Requirements (Qualifications/Certifications/ Experience/Skills etc.)
- Should have exposure complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Strong expertise on JIRA
- Experience in preparing structured test cases and executing these
- Good understanding of quality control processes
- Good team player and the ability to work independently
Education: Bachelor's Degree in IT or equivalent.
Experience: 2+ yrs of relevant system admin experience
