The Infrastructure Support System Engineer is responsible for defining, designing, implementing and improving the technical monitoring functionality. Any problem must be detected as soon as possible - even proactively! - so that the disruption of the service is minimal or can be avoided.

He is accountable for the following systems: Monitoring systems such as Tango/04 and Nagios.
Job Description:

- Analyze, develop and test monitoring solutions: our service catalogue must be constantly updated to fit the IT evolution and the Business needs; you'll also take into account the display of the results, either on specific dashboards (defined with the end users) or on the (supervision) console.

- Develop expertise in multiple monitoring tools: we propose different types of solutions, for proactive or reactive behaviours; these tools are based on specific architectures:

- Agents are deployed on every to be monitored resources; events are generated by these agents and sent to Management Servers; Portal Servers are connected to them, in order to show the current status of the resources and to take actions if needed (e.g. : stop / restart services)

- Robots, i.e. workstations running complex scenario's, are used to simulate a real activity in order to test the critical end-to-end application chains.

- Propose solutions and do market watch on tools in your domain of expertise

- Automate, secure your solutions in order to integrate them in the Skillteam managed Services environment.

- Investigate deeply any problem impacting the monitoring infrastructure, so that the root cause can be identified and resolved.

- 3d level support on monitoring tools you are specialized in.

- Write technical documentations, in order to hand over the necessary knowledge to the 1st and 2d level support within the team.

Your profile:

- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or equivalent by experience.

- 5 years of experience in Windows/Linux systems management, by preference in an operational environment

- Communicative, proactive, customer oriented and has a good team spirit

- Excellent English both speaking/writing skills.

- Analytical mind and are curious about new technologies

- Well organized and know how to manage your priorities
