Our client is a large system integrator and business transformation company, with offices across Saudi Arabia, UAE and other middle-east countries. The company is looking for a talented Hadoop consultant, who will be responsible for building detailed system design specifications, application coding, code reviews with peers, unit testing and post-live application support and enhancements. You will be working on large and complex ecommerce and web analytics projects.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- As a Hadoop developer you will work with a team of talented developers and business users to deliver exceptional business application solutions.
- Interacting with business team to understand and review functional requirements and convert these into technical specifications.
- Build native libraries, user defined functions, and frameworks around Hadoop software
- Project scope estimation and preparing project plans in MS Project.
- Provide technical leadership to the team members
- Working closely with support teams in resolving design, capacity and performance related issues
Key Competencies and Skills:
- 4+ years’ in Big Data applications development minimum 1+ year experience working on Hadoop
- Good understanding of Hadoop architecture
- Ability to work independently on complex modules following defined documentation and software development standards.
- Good understanding of Hadoop Distributed File System working
- Ability to plan, setup and maintain single and multi-node clusters
- Strong experience in distributed systems and back-end data management on Oracle RDBMS
- Solid expertise in developing applications using Hadoop, MapReduce and other tools like Hive, Pig and Flume with end-to-end solution delivery experience.
- Prior project expedience on data warehousing, dimensional modeling and ETL development tools like Ab Initio/ Informatica/ Talend will be a big plus
- Strong skills on related/complementary open source software and programming languages like Java, Python, ANSI SQL and Shell scripting
- Experience working with Maven build automation tool
- Analytical and problem solving skills with out-of-the-box thinking
- Clear written and verbal English skills
Essential Qualification: BE (Computer Science/Information Technology) or Masters in Computer Application (MCA)
