Key Responsibilities
- Installation of G&G applications such as Petrel, Paradigm, etc
- Liaising with vendors and IT development group to maintain and support system after the implementation for Periodic application upgrades
- Interact with Geologists and business users to analyze and resolve any application or the platform related issues to ensure high availability of the application
- Develop, install, modify and test emergency patches/scripts;
- Handle periodic system level upgrades including planning, scheduling, testing, and release of these upgrades in the production environment.
- Responsible for testing of fixes and moving these fixes to the production environment
- Play a technical consultant role for application and infrastructure issues.
- Apply routine preventive repairs, maintenance and upgrades of existing systems using solutions in accordance with standard operating procedures. Investigates and resolves matters of significance.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years related work experience supporting scientific and technical applications used in oil & gas E&P companies
- Good understanding of geological and geophysical workflow will be a definite plus.
- Experience in installation and configuration of upstream applications such as Petrel, Paradigm, etc
- Basic understanding of Unix
- Medium to good knowledge of Windows Administration
- Good Database skills on Oracle/SQL Server
- Basic knowledge of user licensing and management.
- Ability to diagnose, prioritize resolve and perform root cause analysis and fix the issues critical to business continuity for the customer.
- Detailed knowledge of Linux/Unix OS
- Excellent interpersonal and customer handling skills
- Should be a self-motivated and self-directed team player
Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Science degree required, preferably in geosciences, engineering or computer science;
