Our client is a leading communications company, specializing in the data, voice and infrastructure solutions with offices in the UK, Malta and Libya. They have been contracted by a leading telecommunications operator in Malta to execute the FTTH passive network installation on their behalf.
As Team Leader you should be fully conversant with the mechanics of fiber industries particularly in the construction methodologies for a roll out of last mile passive network installations. Thus you will be responsible to execute tasks as directed by his superior on a daily basis on Last Mile projects.
Job Responsibilities
The FTTH Fiber Optic Team Leader shall be required to have strong experience in all the functions of the passive network installations, provide clear leadership and direction to the other members of the team on a day to day basis and solve problems related to the execution of such tasks. Thus the Team Leader shall be expected to have the required skills to be able to ensure that his team and himself carry out the following duties:
- Installation of Duct Bundle - Aerial Fig-8
- Installation of Duct Bundle in ducts in road & pavement
- Installations of underground Tube Distribution Closure
- Installations of O-Hubs& O-Cubs
- Mounting of Optical Distribution Point (ODP)
- Blowing of micro-cable EPFU inside Ducts
- Fusion Splicing in ODP
- Fusion Splicing in OCAB & OHUB
- Testing of Fibre Works:
- Tier 1 - Testing of end to end power loss at 3 wavelengths 1310 1490 and 1550nm
- Tier 2 - OTDR Testing of end to end fibre connectivity from ODP
- Testing of connector cleanliness
Key Competencies/Skills
For an FTTH Last Mile –Field Team Leader a five (5) years’ experience in the same field is needed. Moreover, candidates need to speak fluently in English and have a valid driving license.
