Our client, based in the US, is an international market leader in network, and security solutions for network operators and is the provider of the N2 Platform.
The company plans to recruit an experienced sales director who has prior experience in selling IP Networking and/or Security software and/or hardware products/services to Internet Service Providers in the region of India. This individual will have numerous established relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 telecommunication service providers in India and have experience managing the sales cycle from opportunity identification to live network deployment of the technology for the global and Indian clients.
Reporting to the VP APAC Sales, the Sales Director India is responsible for providing support in the functional areas of Sales and Marketing, which may include supporting the US HQ finance group as well as general administrative tasks.
Job Responsibilities / Key Result Areas (KRAs)
The Sales Director India will be responsible for the following key activities:
- All customer facing communication for the region;
- Expanding the sales opportunities within the region by locating new opportunities with Tier 1 and Tier 2 telecommunication service providers in the region;
- Penetrating deeper into existing key accounts to discover new opportunities;
- Identifying and securing new high quality resellers;
- Expand account and prospect account relationships;
- Establishing marketing events that support demand generation and market profile for the company by working with company’s HQ marketing team;
- Work with VP APAC Sales in developing a suitable sales plan for the region and key accounts;
- Provide accurate reporting and forecasting for the region;
- Meet or exceed an annual sales quota.
Job Requirements (Qualifications/Certifications/Experience/Skills etc.)
- MUST have successfully sold into key Tier 1 and 2 Internet Service Providers in India and have good relationships and contacts with decision makers and purchasing at ISPs with more than 500k broadband subscribers;
- MUST be fluent in English;
- MUST have local Indian language skills;
- MUST have 10+ years of “pure sales” experience in the networking or security industry with A) solid account contacts B) demonstrated exceptional sales track record (documented)- exceeded revenue targets C) high energy level D) goal driven;
- MUST have deep knowledge of networking and service provider IP network infrastructure;
- MUST be willing and able to travel within the region 30-40% of the time as well as to conferences at company HQ in the USA 2 to 4 times per year;
- MUST be able to work effectively and efficiently as a self starter through proven self management processes in previous roles;
MUST be able to bring personal and professional telecommunications industry contacts to assist in the role.
Preferred Requirements:
Once a candidate passes the mandatory filters above, the following criteria are to be used to refine the assessment:
- SHOULD have sales experience with appropriate “target companies”;
- SHOULD have demonstrated excellent communication (oral and written) skills and the ability to interact effectively with peers, internal/external clients and prospective clients;
- SHOULD have knowledge of DNS and / or DHCP with Prior experience with service provider / carrier customers and/or have knowledge of security, Web and application-level networking technologies;
- SHOULD demonstrate sense of humor, perspective, and balance.
Education: University college degree or equivalent technical qualification;
Experience: 10+ yrs of relevant exp in selling IP Networking/ Security products
