Their subsidiary company is a provider of total communication solutions, offering mobile & fixed voice, data, Internet and business continuity services with operations in East and West Africa.
The company is looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer for their Group Head Office in Dubai, UAE. The selected candidate will be part of the IT dept., and will be responsible for supporting and maintaining company’s IT infrastructure and will provide effective desktop, mobile devices products support to all business users. The position reports into Group Director (Infrastructure Services).
Job Responsibilities / Key Result Areas (KRAs)
- Receive and record hardware infrastructure, software and network related support calls and log these into the incident management system.
- Investigation, Analyze and resolve the logged issues
- When not able to resolve a problem, escalate it to the supervisor or to the next support level and track the progress.
- Maintain overall ownership of the issue & provide regular update to the user ensuring timely resolution as per the agreed SLAs.
- Manage installation, configuration and service requests for desktop computers, printers, mobiles devices, tablets and networking routers etc.
- Update the regular status in the incident management system.
- Monitor and perform daily backups
- Keep record of the licensing usage
- Apply regular software patches
- Manage external vendors.
Job Requirements (Qualifications/Certifications/ Experience/Skills etc.)
- 5 years of relevant experience in System and Network admin role managing IT help desk
- Expertise in Servers, Network routers, desktops configuration and debugging techniques.
- Prior experience in supporting Windows and Exchange Servers, Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2003 and later, Outlook in and Exchange
- Strong problem resolution skills and ability to work under pressure
- Experience in managing remote sites
- Exposure to structured incident management process
- Ability to work both independently and as a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation skills
Education: Bachelor's Degree in IT or equivalent. MCSE & CCNA certification will be a plus.
Experience: 5+ yrs of relevant system admin experience
