We have been retained by our client, a world leader in IT consulting, to recruit a System Engineer for their office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for installing , administering, maintaining and troubleshooting for Windows Servers (Active Directory, MS Exchange, MS SQL, DNS, DHCP) and workstations of Windows, MS Office applications and other software applications.
Provide 2nd and 3rd level of support to users via ticket based requests, which include following up on problem cases to ensure timely resolution. This will involve investigation, troubleshooting and implementation of fixes when required.
Maintain and update IT documentation and licensing inventory.
Administer network file server backups and file restoration.
Work effectively with and outsource vendor providing expected SLA on managed services for PC hardware and software services.
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least an lT Certification, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/ Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Computer Science/ Information Technology or its equivalent with a proven record of achievement.
Minimum 4 years experience with IT Operations, Server Administration and end user support.
Hands-on experience with Computer Hardware, Microsoft Operating systems (Desktop and Servers) Active Directory, MS Exchange, Windows Terminal Services and Backup system is required.
Experience in managing Email server i.e. Microsoft Exchange Server
Experience in Web based Applications with understanding of LAN, WAN and Wireless infrastructure; network protocol would be an added advantage.
Team player who is self motivated, self disciplined and able to follow procedures but still use their own initiative. Organized, thorough and detail-oriented.
Good communication skills at all levels – both written and verbal.
Hands-on knowledge for the following devices are also added advantage i.e. iPhone, Blackberry and other PDAs.
Willing to travel and work in 5½ days week job.
